Team Artail's First Official Art Contest!

Welcome to Team Artail's first official art contest! After considering for a while, I've decided to finally hold one. But I will say here and now beforehand, anyone taking part in this, please do so to have FUN! Don't enter expecting to win, otherwise you'll be bummed out if you don't. Just have a good time, enjoy drawing and looking at the other entries, and it'll be fun for everyone. If this ends up being a disaster with people bitching and whining, I may never do another art contest again, so behave! Alright, there's going to be a lot of info here, so let's begin!

1. What is the theme of this contest?
2. What are the rules?
3. How do I enter?
4. What are the prizes?
5. How will the winners be determined?

1. What is the theme of this contest?

For this contest, I have decided to go with something that not everyone may end up liking, but I think it will provide the opportunity for folks to decide a good deal for themselves exactly what to draw. Basically, I am pulling out one of my alltime favorite fanfics, by author Daniel Drazen, "Bloodlines". You can find the story to read by following this link. Reading that fanfic is a REQUIREMENT for this contest. It is set in the SatAM universe (Old ABC Saturday Morning Sonic cartoon, with the freedom fighters). The theme will be to read that story, and illustrate a scene from it. Any scene of your choosing from that specific story. When you submit your entry, please at the very least state which chapter the illustrated scene is from.

2. What are the rules?

3. How do I enter?

Entries must be submitted in JPEG, GIF, or PNG format, attached to an email sent to mrartemis@comcast.net, with the subject line "Art Contest: Bloodlines". I will not be accepting entries by snail mail for this contest. You will be notified at the email your entry is sent from if you are a winner. Along with your entry please include your name (or the name you want to be associated with the entry publicly) and a description of what exaxtly the picture is in relation to the story. I'll be including these summaries along with the art when it comes time for the voting, so people know what they're looking at.

4. What are the prizes?

There will be prizes for 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place, as well as two runner-up prizes to be awarded to random entrants who do not place in the top 3. This is to encourage everyone to participate regardless of your confidence in your abilities. The following prizes will be awarded to 1st-3rd place:

The 1st place winner will have their choice of any one of those 3 prizes. The 2nd place winner will then choose between the remaining two, and the 3rd place winner will get the final remaining prize. The two runner-up prizes to be offered will each be one random unopened toy from the Sonic X figure collection, imported from Japan.

5. How will the winners be determined?

The top 3 winners will be determined by a user poll held on Team Artail once the contest has ended. All the images will be displayed at that time, and the site's visitors will vote for their favorite entry. Voting will likely be held for a duration of one week at some point in March. This is the way I have decided to handle determining the winners. The two runner-up prizes will be awarded to two random entrants once the top 3 winners have been selected.

If you have any questions that have not been addressed here, please email me and ask. I may update this page if something important is brought up that I may have left out. That's it, and have fun!
