Normal Board Rules (UPDATED August 26 2007!):

- Your drawing must be Sonic/Furry related (This includes any anthro animal, including those that don't have fur). Humanized Official Sonic characters are fine.
Humans with a few animal bits on (like just ears and a tail), and non-anthro animals do not count.
(Any pictures breaking this rule will be deleted immediatly. If we have to delete 3 pictures by you for this reason, you will get a weeks ban)
- Spend at least 30 minutes on all pictures, including WIP.
We won't delete any pictures that are undertimed 1-3 minutes as long as there is obvious effort in it.
- Mark bloody and R rated pictures as adult. NC-17 art goes on the adult board.
- Do not bash or flame, or otherwise behave in a disruptive manner. (This should go without saying)
- No more than 3 pictures a day per board (excl. practice board).
- User created contests are not allowed on this board.
- If you have a WIP, try to finish it before starting another picture.
- All pictures must have dimensions of at least 200x200 pixels

When to contact an Admin:

- When you have an issue with being copied. Do not attempt to deal with it yourself, you may be at risk of punishment for flaming.
- When chatroom conversations launch into flamewars, are 'trolled' or spammed, or contain overly sexual content (please include a copy of the discussion). New: Please note that the chatroom is shared between all boards, so avoid posting sexual content regardless of which board you are on at the time.
- When you feel another user is harrassing you, or attacking you unfairly through PM.

Ok I'll try and keep this short.

I've been receiving a lot of complaints about members leaving crit. While some of you have good intentions some of you also believe you can use this as an excuse to bash and flame.

On the other hand some members are reacting terribly to helpful suggestions from others. Please keep in mind that the rule "Do not bash or flame, or otherwise behave in a disruptive manner." applies to ALL of you. If you feel someone is attacking you then PM an admin rather than taking the situation into your own hands.

I understand good critique takes time and effort and that it's kind of disappointing when someone ignores it. Some members just don't want it.
Unless a member specifically asks for critique in their comments please don't leave any.

I will be warning members who ignore this. Also locked to stop drama so if you have any questions, complaints or input then please PM me.

First of all, I absolutely love your style, and your coloring is really really nice too <3.

I think the kind of perspective that you're trying to go for doesn't fit well with the angle that you have her head in, it should show more of the top of her head, and the torso should be a bit longer. I tried to do a red-line of my explanation but I totally butchered it so. 8D

But anyway, good job though, excellent work~.

The structure of the head is lopsided, and too small. One arm is shorter than the other, despite you trying to make it look like it was farther away, you didnt, due to the flat construction of the left arm. His posture would make him fall backwards. In general, he looks stiff, and mechanical of sorts, and doesnt have much sense of weight.

Thanks bro. He does look stiff, we already went over his head though. The flatness of his arm is going to be remedied when I color and shade it. As for his posture, you're right he looks like he's about to fall over, I didn't emphasize the left arm holding onto the wall enough and I'll fix it.

but yeah, the bg, everything besides the sidewalk and line of buildings is wrong, the angle the sidewalk leades to, you stopped the sidewalk at the horizon. so everything above it, and the other side of the street, looks like it bends upwards.

The hair is cool, but that's about it, everything else is pretty trash, as for your perspective, you've got the right idea, but you're inconsistent so it comes out looking absolutely horrible. Stop drawing so many folds on the clothes it looks ridiculous, you're over doing it, and it ruins it. The necks are too skinny and the people are too stiff. The guy in blue's arms are too long and they aren't even the same size.

This whole picture is ridiculous.

As for xnightkidsx, though, that's a pretty good redline, actually. Only think I can spot wrong with the redline is that the right arm on Danie's character has is so the top half of the arm is shorter than the other arm. If the top half was longer and the bottom half was shorter I think it'd be good. Am I making since to anyone?
Also, I think the clothes folds are fine.

Yeah, I didn't see him insult the artist at all.

I'm just saying this 'cause I have nothing better to do, and I'm a follower, and I can't draw.
The colors of the picture looks as if there's a big cloud over the characters and the buildings. I don't think it should be that dark.. and usually the street isn't lighter than the sidewalk.

The perspective of the sidewalk looks as if it keeps going and going more than the energizer bunny. I think you should have made the sidewalk thicker where the point is.. and maybe you should have made the beach in the BG more dimmer, and where the sky meets the ocean it should be more like a gradient where it should be lighter towards the bottom.

I agree a lot of what Frisk says. Yes, he's harsh, but he's correct. The perspective is a little wonked. Remember your vanishing point.

The folds *are* unrealistic. Remember how things actually fold, and not just what you think look nice.

I would study anatomy all in general for you, honestly. Some of it I know is 'stylized' but a lot of it looks really, really off.

The cracks in the buildings are a bit overdone, and makes it looks really messy.

The hair *does* look really nice, though. So do the waves in the back. Just keep practicing things all around.

" Study hands" is a way to improve, Arty already said that. If you are, just say " I'm actually doing that right now, Thanks anyway!" and get on with it. If they say something else you don't like, then either laugh along with them, or ignore it. Don't go back and insult their person because they pointed out faults with your art, be them real to you or not.

Just chill and say " Okay" and get on with your life. Like you said, you barely know one another, so what does it matter to you what they think?

I've studied hands for a long ass time and I still get it wrong from time to time. There is always room to improve no matter how long you have been practicing.

On top of the index finger being thicker than the thumb (what the fuck lol), the thumb itself has the appearance of being broken in two places. Also, his right thigh is thicker than his left.

Lesson here : Fundamentals before stylization.

bluebead never denied the hand was faulty, he knows and admits having a hard time with it. and if he says hes putting in the work to learn the anatomy, then all you have is his word to go by. your wrong to decide for him whether he is or isnt.

Stop crying, people are going to get critiqued on an art site, and they're going to get accosted when they're too high up their own asses to take critique.

Also on the comment of me not helping. I give people ample advice on how to improve, I tell them what isn't right and why it isn't right. I'm not going to sit there and draw their pictures for them though. Do you want me to hold your hand while you take a dump too?
