Now that I Have this DVD in my posession, I thought I'd let you folks still waiting for it in on the details! I suppose this'll basically be my little review of it, even though I suck at reviews. And I'm really just reviewing the way the DVD was done, not the episodes. First off, I'll show you what the menus look like (Click on the images to enlarge):

The main menu. Inspector Gadget is on this menu, and all the submenus to offer help to those younger viewers who might be confused about how to work the menus.

Quiz Game! This goes through 8 multiple choice questions regarding the episodes on the DVD (If you know your SatAM, this should be a breeze) and if you get all the questions correct, you get to watch a bonus episode,
"Sonic and the Secret Scrolls"!

Above you see the 4 episodes as originally announced to be on the DVD (Super Sonic, Sonic and Sally, Sonic Racer, and Sonic Boom), however what was not known until now is that there's actually FIVE episodes on the DVD! The 5th episode, which can only be accessed by completing the Quiz Game is Sonic and the Secret Scrolls. I'm not sure whether that episode will be on one of the VHS tapes, but I doubt it. So, that pretty much sums up the features of this DVD, the only extra being the Quiz Game and a bonus episode. I doubt the bonus episode will be on either of the VHS tapes. This is also the first time the episode Sonic and the Secret Scrolls has been released on home video (or rather, DVD in this case).

Now that I'm through with the content, there's one more thing I have to say about this DVD.. the video quality is pretty bad compared to other animated DVDs I own. It's blurry in a lot of places and just doesn't look that great. That could be either due to the authoring house they used to produce the DVD, or just the source material isn't any better than that, but I can't believe they wouldn't have better masters... Oh well, regardless, this is well worth the purchase for $14.99 MSRP for the great show this was :) (And cheaper in a lot of places, depending where you buy from. Best Buy seems to carry it for $12.99)

Oh, and lastly, there was no insert in the case other than a little booklet advertising other Trimark DVD releases.

I'm not sure when we'll know how sales of this were or whether to expect more episodes to be released in the future, but I really hope it does well enough to warrent more volumes! And hopefully in future volumes, DiC will be able to think of some more extras, maybe listen to some ideas for some, and perhaps fix the quality of the video..

UPDATE: I take back what I said about the quality of the video. I looked at the DVD on one of my other players & TV and it looked a lot better than when I watched it on my main setup. So it might've just been something with my equipment. Quality looks nice :)
