Subtitled Episodes FAQ & Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
Q:
When I try to play an episode, the video freezes and all I get it sound!
A: Head to www.divx.com and
install the latest DivX bundle. As of this writing it's DivX 5.0.3.
Q: The video
is really choppy/slow when I try to play it in Windows Media Player (etc)!
A: I recommend playing it in the "DivX Player" that comes with the
DivX 5.0.3 bundle from www.divx.com.
No one has had a problem playing it in that, that I know of.
Q: Even in
DivX Player, it STILL runs slow/choppy!
A: This could be simply due to the capabilities of your computer. If you have
a really old computer it's possible it just may not be able to handle playing
high quality DivX video. If that's the case, I'm afraid I can't say much other
than get yourself a new computer! ^_^;
FAQ (Our Fansubs)
Q: When will
the next episode be out?
A: We try to get them done as soon as we can, but it's dependant upon how busy
we are with real life obligations (school, work, etc.). We will try to keep
our current status up to date on the web page here, and in the topic of our
IRC channel.
Q: Can you
send me the raw AVI of <episode>?
A: Because so many people want the raw (Japanese without subtitles) AVIs, and
they're such large files, we don't give them out at all. I'm sure many would
rather we devote our time to working on and getting out the subtitled episodes,
rather than worrying about distributing raw episodes.
Q: I can't
download a 100+ MB file! Can you just send me your scripts?
A: I'm afraid we don't give out our scripts, sorry. Because we only have them
in timed format for adding to the video. And if we gave those out, if would
be very easy for someone to steal our work with it already nicely timed for
them. If someone wants to write down the translation from our fansub though,
we don't have a problem with that. As long as you don't claim it as your own
work.
FAQ (Sonic X)
Q: When is
Sonic X on TV?
A: Currently it airs only in Japan, on TV Tokyo (Channel 12) from 8:30am-9:00am.
By now I believe it is also being broadcast on some other channels in Japan,
but I don't know exactly which ones.
Q: When will
Sonic X come to the US?
A: As of the time I'm writing this, all that's known is that it's been said
it will have a US broadcast Fall 2003. No details as to exactly when, or what
company is doing it, or what channel will be airing it. Likewise, there has
been no word of a US DVD release yet, either. But it is still rather early for
that kind of information to be out.
Q: Why is Shadow
in Sonic X? I thought he died?
A: First of all, yes I know that's a Sonic Adventure 2 spoiler, but it's been
all over the place for a couple years now, and I'm sure everyone knows :P Anyway,
to answer the question, Sonic X isn't based on any Sonic game. It has all (or
most, anyway) of the characters, but just because something happened in a game
doesn't necessarily mean it will happen in Sonic X. Keep that in mind as the
series goes on.
